Abstract Submission


The first language of the conference will be English. However, a máximum of one or two panels for each simultaneous communications session may be held in Spanish, depending on the proposals submitted in that language and approved by the scientific committee. The plenary lectures will be in English. Posters must also be written in English.

Each participant may submit up to three proposals, however, his/her name cannot appear in more than five. The presentation may only be carried out by participants enrolled in the conference.

Certificates of attendance can only be issued for proposals delivered during the conference, in the allotted time and date.

All participants will be given a book of abstracts with ISBN. After the conference, a proceedings book of extended abstracts will be published with ISBN.


Presentations: fifteen-minute oral presentations gathered in panels of four or five participants plus 30 minutes for discussion.

Symposium: Proposals of four presentations, including that of the coordinator, which being closely related, share the same goals. In order to submit proposals for a symposium, it is required that the coordinator presents a general abstract with a list of the participants and individual abstracts of each of the presentations.

Creative workshops: These are practical demonstrations of techniques, interventions or procedures used in creative work with various vulnerable populations in order to promote health and social inclusion. The practical component will be a priority in these workshops, with the likely participation of all or part of the attendants. However, some theoretical aspects may be included. Creative workshops panels shall consist of two fifty-minute proposals plus 20 minutes for discussion. The promoters of the workshop should have the materials needed to conduct the workshop in mind. The organization may provide stationery, pens, or any painting material. The contribution for other material must be studied by the organization.

Posters: The maximum size of the posters will be 120 cm. (Vertical) x 90 cm (horizontal).

Use of as much graphic information as possible is recommended.

The organization will provide the necessary elements for holding posters. Given the nature of the conference those experiences and practical intervention works that are of interest will be presented in poster format. In this case, the poster should have at least the following structure: - Title of the experience / intervention - Objectives - Description of experience / creative process-Results / Conclusions - Bibliography.


Participants should categorize their proposals according to one of the main themes of the conference:

- Analysis of the Concept "Health Humanities": Conflicts and Challenges.

- The application of creative practice in health and social care and for Enhancing public health and well-being

- The role of the arts and humanities in health and social innovation

- Mutuality and reciprocity in applied arts and humanities

- Assessing the impact of creative practices in the arts and humanities

- Cultural and discursive study of images and representations of disease, health and personality in literature, arts and history

- Using narratives and life stories as a therapeutic and research tool

- Creative practices and Basic Psychological Processes

- Other topics related to Health and Humanities


Abstracts for all types of participation will consist of 200-250 words. All abstracts should be written in English. If you would like that your paper is included in a Spanish language panel, you should point out at the end of the abstract "language presentation: Spanish. Abstracts structure is flexible, depending on the nature of the content. However the following three-part structure is recommended: 1) Introduction / objectives / frame, 2) methodology / procedure / 3) results / conclusions / discussion. Abstracts will be submitted online via the abstract submission portal.


The deadline for submitting proposals is 15th April 2016 at 00:00. The proposed contribution will be sent only via the submission portal found on this page. Participants with communications should be officially registered in the congress by 30th June 2016.

The Scientific and Organizing Committee reserves the right to decide the final format (oral or written) of the presentations or inform about the acceptance or rejection of proposals as soon as possible and always before 30th May 2016.
